We all come up against things. A difficult decision. A relationship that isn’t working. A change we’re trying to navigate. A pattern we keep repeating. Sometimes we know exactly what the challenge is; other times we just know something isn’t working as we’d like it to.
Coaching isn’t only about what’s difficult. It’s also about what’s already there: your experience, strengths and resources, what gives you energy, what matters to you and the potential you may not yet be fully using.
The work is about becoming more aware of all of this and learning to work with it. Understanding what serves you and what may be getting in your way. Trusting yourself more. Becoming clearer about the choices you make and where you want to put your energy.
You don’t need to become someone else. There may simply be more of yourself to understand, draw on and bring forward.
There is no set route. We start with what is happening for you and go from there. There is space to explore, see things differently and discover what might be possible.
There is no set route through one-to-one leadership coaching because the work is shaped by you and what you bring.
Something happening right now or something that has been there for longer. We might notice a pattern, see a situation differently, stay with something uncomfortable or explore a new possibility.
I bring curiosity, questions and different perspectives with one-to-one leadership coaching. At times I’ll challenge you, and at others we may stay with something for a while and see what emerges.
What you notice and try between conversations matters too. It gives you the opportunity to see what feels different and what you find yourself coming back to.
Over time, the aim is not to become dependent on your one-to-one leadership coaching. It is to know yourself better, build greater trust in yourself and develop your own capacity to work with the challenges and opportunities that come your way.
Self-awareness opens the door. What you do with what you discover is where the work really begins.
See yourself, your situation and what matters more clearly.
Listen to your own judgement and build greater confidence in the choices you make.
See beyond the familiar and become open to other ways of looking at yourself, other people and what is possible.
Learn to work with challenges, emotions and patterns rather than expecting them simply to disappear.
Take what you discover into real life, whether that means having a conversation, making a decision, trying something different or letting something go.
Become clearer about where you want to put your energy, how you want to lead and what you want to move towards.
You don’t need to know exactly what you want from coaching. You may have a challenge, a change you’re navigating or simply something you want to explore.
We can start there.
If you’d like to explore whether working together feels right, I’d be very happy to have a conversation.
